BORN AMONG BUSHMEN AND LIONS - Animal Planet special
One girl's quest for a new home for her adopted lions. Marlice Van Der Merwe raised 15 orphaned lions on her parents' farm in Namibia, but the lions have grown into restless predators; they need space and freedom to satisfy their primal hunting urges. Follow Marlice and her Bushman friends as they travel across Namibia in search of a new paradise for the adolescent lions. Animal Planet at 11:00 KSA and 19:00 KSA.

ANATOMY OF A SHARK BITE - Discovery Channel premiere
Those who are knowledgeable about sharks will tell you that attacks on human beings are extremely uncommon. Anatomy of a Shark Bite captures the first ever television footage of one of these rare attacks. Shark behavioural scientist Dr Erich Ritter was bitten on his calf by a bull shark during the filming of a Discovery Channel documentary in the Bahamas last year. During the filming, Dr Ritter's terrifying ordeal was caught on camera both from above and below the water. In the resulting documentary, Anatomy of a Shark Bite, Dr Ritter reflects on his close encounter for the first time and examines the footage, as well of that of other shark incidents and CGI reconstruction, to explore how and why different breeds of sharks bite. JAWS OF THE PACIFIC - Discovery Channel premiere
The great white shark, once thought to prefer only coastal waters, is now believed to make trans-oceanic crossings. New data, collected using satellite transmitters attached to the sharks, is re-writing the book on these menacing fish and may soon reveal the hidden locations of their birthing and mating grounds. THE GREATEST WILDLIFE SHOW ON EARTH - Animal Planet special
To celebrate Sir David Attenborough's 50th anniversary as a wildlife filmmaker, Animal Planet is showing one of his amazing documentaries. Attenborough's 'Greatest Wildlife Show on Earth' follows the path of the sun on its annual cycle, from the Equator, across the Northern Hemisphere and into the South. Revealed in all their glory are the natural rhythms of life - the urge to breed, to feed and to raise young - all driven by the sun, the moon and the seasons, across the world. A revealing portrait of one of the world's longest reigning monarchs, Britain's Elizabeth II. 50 years ago Elizabeth II became head of the world's oldest monarchy. Her family, the Windsors, have ruled England since the 9th century. Once they owned most of the country, accumulated immense wealth and wielded the power of life and death. Today, sex, lies, intrigue and family betrayal have turned the story of the British throne into a real-life soap opera. On the 31st August 1997 a nation plunged into grief following the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. Isolated in her Scottish castle, Elizabeth II carried on with her normal routine with no show of emotion. For Elizabeth Diana's death was only the climax at the end of a decade of trouble, trouble that the Queen could barely have guessed at 16 years earlier. KANDULA: AN ELEPHANT STORY - Animal Planet premiere
This is the story of a handful of humans on an urgent quest to preserve Asian elephants. Led by the Smithsonian Zoo's Lucy Spelman and Janine Brown, they wage the battle on two fronts - the ever-dwindling pockets of wild habitat, and the zoos that aren't equipped to support natural herd social structures. Their goal: create self-sustaining Asian elephant populations both in the wild and in captivity, make obsolete the need to import wild elephants into zoos, and create state-of-the-art zoo facilities that allow every captive elephant the chance to live out their six-plus decades in stimulating, multi-generational herd environments. UNSOLVED HISTORY: DIANA , DEATH OF A PRINCESS - Discovery Channel premiere
On August 31st, 1997 the entire world was shocked to learn of the tragic death of Princess Diana. Her car hit a concrete pillar at high speed in the Pont De L'Alma tunnel in Paris. A two-year investigation in France headed up by Judge Herve Stephan concluded that Diana died under tragic but mundane circumstances: dangerous speeding compounded by alcohol consumption on the part of the driver, Henri Paul. But was it this simple? Unsolved History's forensic team go to France to examine the crash site: photographic and acoustic experts attempt to recreate the sights and sounds of the crash. Forensic pathologists and doctors will study the passengers' injuries and a bio-chemical expert and two top stunt drivers will help us fill the gaping holes in the official French investigation. Starting from verifiable witness testimony, this expert team will recreate what happened in the last five minutes of Diana's life in more detail than ever before. MOSCOW SIEGE - Discovery Channel premiere
This is the powerful inside story of the controversial Moscow Siege - 57 hours of high tension, fear and confrontation in a Moscow theatre in October 2002. 129 innocent people died along with 41 Chechen guerrillas. This harrowing documentary includes interviews with hostages, military personnel and observers as well as investigations into how the Chechens prepared their assault.
