    The Saudi National Day

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

    In 21 Jumad Al-Akher 1351 Hijri , 23 september 1932 AD

King Abdul-Aziz had announced the unity of principal regions

in The Arabian Peninsula to establish the Kingdom Of

Saudi Arabia the most important Arabic and Islamic country

The date of that historical event have been the National day

of Saudi Arabia as a symbol of unity , victory , glory and dignity

I love you so much my sweet home

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Tomorrow ( Monday ) , the children went to school in traditional style clothing in order to celebrate Saudi National Day. Since the government now gives their employees off on this day it was decided to celebrate today along with the UN "Peace Day"

The girls love dressing up in the more traditional clothing. And out of all the sparkles they have in their closet they chose the dresses thst they wore in a school performance. They have wore the same thing the past two national days. I'll have to see if I can get some others made up, they are nice.

Jihad always looks handsome in his thobe, the white, clean and crisp garment does a good job of making him look like a growing up boy. I even got him to stand for pictures, one I have with Hannah hugging him and he shouted over and over "Don't put it on the internet" so I'll respect that.

Of course he couldn't leave the house like that. He had to be Jihad when he left for school. He should be very happy his Mama allows him to be such an individual. These socks sent Mr. Man in a frenzy but I assured him no one would see them. Well at least not in school.

I think Saudi National Day is a good idea, even better that people are allowed to celebrate it. I think it is good because it should instill some pride in the Saudi people about their country rather than just their passport identities. Perhaps this could eventually help lead to a better Saudi country over all.

This could also bring about one national identity rather than a tribal one. Not that one has to forget their tribal identity all together but it does have harmful effects on this society. Hiring someone or not hiring due to their family name, marrying someone due to their family name, encouraging children to associate or not associate with children due to family names are all negative aspects of tribalism. If one starts to view others within their society as an equal part of their society such negative social behaviors can be eradicated
