My mom
كان لأمي عين واحدة... وقد كرهتها... لأنها كانت تسبب لي الإحراج.
My mom only had one eye
I hated her... she was such an embarrassment
وكانت تعمل طاهية في المدرسة التي أتعلم فيها لتعيل العائلة.
She بحوربحوربحوربحوربحورd for students & teachers to support the family
ذات يوم...في المرحلة الابتدائية جاءت لتطمئن عَلي.
There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me
أحسست بالإحراج فعلاً ... كيف فعلت هذا بي؟!
I was so embarrassed
How could she do this to me
تجاهلتها, ورميتها بنظرة مليئة بالكره.
I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out
وفي اليوم التالي قال أحد التلامذة ... أمك ... بعين واحده ... أووووه
The next day at school one of my classmates said
"EEEE, your mom only has one eye
وحينها تمنيت أن أدفن نفسي
وأن تختفي امي من حياتي.
I wanted to bury myself
I also wanted my mom to just disappear
في اليوم التالي واجهتها :
لقد جعلتِ مني أضحوكة, لِم لا تموتين ؟!!
So I confronted her that day and said, " If you're only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don't you just die
ولكنها لم تُجب!!!
My mom did not respond
لم أكن متردداً فيما قلت ولم أفكر بكلامي لأني كنت غاضباً جداً .
I didn't even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger
ولم أبالي لمشاعرها ...
I was oblivious to her feeling
وأردت مغادرة المكان..
I wanted out of that house
درست بجد وحصلتُ على منحة للدراسة في سنغافورة.
So I studied real hard, got a chance to go to Singapore to study
وفعلاً.. ذهبت .. ودرست .. ثم تزوجت .. واشتريت بيتاً .. وأنجبت أولاداً وكنت سعيداً ومرتاحاً في حياتي.
Then, I got married, I bought a house of my own
I had kids of my own, I was happy with my life
وفي يوم من الأيام ..أتت أمي لزيارتي ولم تكن قد رأتني منذ سنوات ولم ترى أحفادها أبداً!
Then one day, my mother came to visit me. She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't even meet her grandchildren
وقفت على الباب وأخذ أولادي يضحكون...
When she stood by the door, my children
laughed at her
صرخت: كيف تجرأتِ وأتيت لتخيفي اطفالي؟..
اخرجي حالاً!!!
I screamed at her, "How dare you come to my house and scare my children
GET OUT OF HERE! NOW
أجابت بهدوء: (آسفة .. أخطأتٌ العنوان على ما يبدو).. واختفت....
And to this, my mother quietly answered, "Oh, I'm so sorry
I may have gotten the wrong address," and she disappeared out of sight
وذات يوم وصلتني رسالة من المدرسة تدعوني لجمع الشمل العائلي.
One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house
فكذبت على زوجتي وأخبرتها أنني سأذهب في رحلة عمل...
So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip
بعد الاجتماع ذهبت الى البيت القديم الذي كنا نعيش فيه, للفضول فقط!!!.
After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity
أخبرني الجيران أن أمي.... توفيت.
My neighbors said that she died
لم أذرف ولو دمعة واحدة !!
I did not shed a single tear
قاموا بتسليمي رسالة من أمي ....
They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have
ابني الحبيب.. لطالما فكرت بك..
"My dearest son, I think of you all the time
آسفة لمجيئي إلى سنغافورة وإخافة أولادك.
I'm sorry that I came to Singapore and scared your children
كنت سعيدة جداً عندما سمعتُ أنك سوف تأتي للاجتماع.
I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion
ولكني قد لا أستطيع مغادرة السرير لرؤيتك.
But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you
آسفة لأنني سببت لك الإحراج مراتٍ ومرات في حياتك.
I'm sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up
هل تعلم... لقد تعرضتَ لحادثٍ عندما كنت صغيراً وقد فقدتَ عينك.
You see........when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye
وكأي أم, لم استطع أن أتركك تكبر بعينٍ واحدةٍ...
As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you having to grow up with one eye
ولِذا... أعطيتكَ عيني .....
So… I gave you mine
وكنتُ سعيدة وفخورة جداً لأن ابني يستطيع رؤية العالم بعيني.
I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye
.....مع حبي.....
…With my love to you…

سبحان الله: إذا كانت هذه رحمة الأم بولدها فكيف برحمة الله سبحانه؟!!
يقول رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في الحديث:
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال:
( إن لله مئة رحمة قسم منها رحمة بين جميع الخلائق بها يتراحمون و بها يتعاطفون و بها تعطف الوحش على أولادها وأخر تسعة وتسعين رحمة يرحم بها عباده يوم القيامة )
ويقول أيضاً:
( عن عمر بن الخطاب أنه قدم على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بسبي فإذا امرأةٌ من السبي تبتغي إذا وجدت صبياً في السبي أخذته فألصقته ببطنها وأرضعته فقال لنا: أترون هذه المرأة طارحةً ولدها في النار؟ قلنا: لا والله – وهي تقدر أن لا تطرحه فقال:
الله أرحم بعباده من هذه بولدها )
Omar Ebnulkhatab said: (Once upon a time while we had some captives we saw captive a woman taking babies, held them tight and breast fed them
The prophet asked us: Do you think this woman will throw his baby in fire? We said: No if she has the choice
Then He said: Allah is more merciful to his worshiper than her with her sun
وكما قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عندما سُئل:
يا رسول الله من أحق الناس بحسن صحابتي قال أمك قال ثم من قال أمك قال ثم من قال أمك قال ثم من قال أبوك
صدق رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
ونحمد الله على نعمة الإسلام
The prophet (sall-Allahu alayhi wassallam) Told us that we must obey Allah and His messenger at all times but after that Comes your mother then your mother then Your mother then your father

في اليوم التالي واجهتها :
لقد جعلتِ مني أضحوكة, لِم لا تموتين ؟!!
So I confronted her that day and said, " If you're only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don't you just die
ولكنها لم تُجب!!!
My mom did not respond
لم أكن متردداً فيما قلت ولم أفكر بكلامي لأني كنت غاضباً جداً .
I didn't even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger
ولم أبالي لمشاعرها ...
I was oblivious to her feeling
وأردت مغادرة المكان..
I wanted out of that house
درست بجد وحصلتُ على منحة للدراسة في سنغافورة.
So I studied real hard, got a chance to go to Singapore to study
وفعلاً.. ذهبت .. ودرست .. ثم تزوجت .. واشتريت بيتاً .. وأنجبت أولاداً وكنت سعيداً ومرتاحاً في حياتي.
Then, I got married, I bought a house of my own
I had kids of my own, I was happy with my life
وفي يوم من الأيام ..أتت أمي لزيارتي ولم تكن قد رأتني منذ سنوات ولم ترى أحفادها أبداً!
Then one day, my mother came to visit me. She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't even meet her grandchildren
وقفت على الباب وأخذ أولادي يضحكون...
When she stood by the door, my children
laughed at her
صرخت: كيف تجرأتِ وأتيت لتخيفي اطفالي؟..
اخرجي حالاً!!!
I screamed at her, "How dare you come to my house and scare my children
GET OUT OF HERE! NOW
أجابت بهدوء: (آسفة .. أخطأتٌ العنوان على ما يبدو).. واختفت....
And to this, my mother quietly answered, "Oh, I'm so sorry
I may have gotten the wrong address," and she disappeared out of sight
وذات يوم وصلتني رسالة من المدرسة تدعوني لجمع الشمل العائلي.
One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house
فكذبت على زوجتي وأخبرتها أنني سأذهب في رحلة عمل...
So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip
بعد الاجتماع ذهبت الى البيت القديم الذي كنا نعيش فيه, للفضول فقط!!!.
After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity
أخبرني الجيران أن أمي.... توفيت.

لم أذرف ولو دمعة واحدة !!
I did not shed a single tear
قاموا بتسليمي رسالة من أمي ....

ابني الحبيب.. لطالما فكرت بك..
"My dearest son, I think of you all the time
آسفة لمجيئي إلى سنغافورة وإخافة أولادك.
I'm sorry that I came to Singapore and scared your children
كنت سعيدة جداً عندما سمعتُ أنك سوف تأتي للاجتماع.
I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion
ولكني قد لا أستطيع مغادرة السرير لرؤيتك.
But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you
آسفة لأنني سببت لك الإحراج مراتٍ ومرات في حياتك.
I'm sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up
هل تعلم... لقد تعرضتَ لحادثٍ عندما كنت صغيراً وقد فقدتَ عينك.
You see........when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye
وكأي أم, لم استطع أن أتركك تكبر بعينٍ واحدةٍ...
As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you having to grow up with one eye
ولِذا... أعطيتكَ عيني .....
So… I gave you mine
وكنتُ سعيدة وفخورة جداً لأن ابني يستطيع رؤية العالم بعيني.
I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye

سبحان الله: إذا كانت هذه رحمة الأم بولدها فكيف برحمة الله سبحانه؟!!
يقول رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في الحديث:
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال:

Omar Ebnulkhatab said: (Once upon a time while we had some captives we saw captive a woman taking babies, held them tight and breast fed them
The prophet asked us: Do you think this woman will throw his baby in fire? We said: No if she has the choice
Then He said: Allah is more merciful to his worshiper than her with her sun
وكما قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عندما سُئل:
يا رسول الله من أحق الناس بحسن صحابتي قال أمك قال ثم من قال أمك قال ثم من قال أمك قال ثم من قال أبوك
صدق رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
ونحمد الله على نعمة الإسلام
The prophet (sall-Allahu alayhi wassallam) Told us that we must obey Allah and His messenger at all times but after that Comes your mother then your mother then Your mother then your father
